They say it’s lonely at the top, but that is not always true.
Case in point, successful songwriters and publishers are surrounded by their peers this week (Nov. 1) as they are honored with Performing Rights awards and multiple recognitions. And so it is on the Nekstbiz Top60 Country Songwriter chart. Number One is always a nice place to hang, because writers are always surrounded by 59 of their peers.
Admittedly, that is a lengthy introduction to reveal that once again Shane McAnally owns the No. 1 position on the chart. However the race among upper top few spots is becoming heated. For example, Craig Wiseman storms into the No. 2 position with a point score that is 95% of Shane’s total this week. And Jon Nite also remains dangerously close at No. 3 with 94.58% of Shane’s total. Adding to the writer-jam is Ashley Gorley in the No. 4 lane with 93.69% of the top score. To break all these numbers down into one sentence—it’s a very close race!!!
And let’s take a moment to salute all the talented writers and publishers who were part of this year’s Performing Rights Awards… Here’s the winners list
