The Nashville Entrepreneur Center (EC) and the Country Music Association (CMA) have teamed to offer Project Music, a concentrated music business accelerator designed to leverage the EC’s proven formulas with the industry strength of partner CMA. Six to eight startups from around the world will be chosen for the new program and awarded a minimum investment of $20,000 in exchange for equity. The online application process will be open until Nov. 24, 2014 and can be found at www.ec.co/projectmusic.
“It is great to see a group of local companies invest in music technology startups,”said Nashville Mayor Karl Dean. “Nashville’s front door for innovation is the EC, and this music accelerator will only enhance our creative economy.”
Companies chosen for Project Music will participate in a 14-week program designed to develop each idea into an investable business. Seed investment group founders for the accelerator are Creative Artists Agency, Vector Management, Ryman Hospitality Properties, Universal Music Group, Spalding Entertainment, DevDigital, Red Light Management, and Galante Entertainment.
